Kingait Gallery directions
As you walk through Kingait Gallery, you are entering a world unto it's own! Beautiful stone carvings, original Inuit prints and unique jewelry give the visitor a sense of Inuit life. Each piece of art reveals the culture and beliefs of the Inuit people.

John and Sherry Fewer, are the pround owners of Kingair Gallery, and are a goldmine of knowledge on the history of the beautiful Inuit art and it's people.

John was born in Newfoundland and 15 years ago he moved to the NorthWest Territories, now known as Nunavut. He settled in Cape Dorset, now known as Kingait, which is located on the southern tip of Baffin Island and has a population of approximately 1200. The community is actually on an island within the Baffin archipelago.

John and Sherry were members of the Inuit community where they lived, fished, and hunted with some of the most famous Inuit artists in the world. Nuna Parr, Kananginak Pootoogook, Kenojuak Ashevak, and Paulta Saila are just a few of the artists that John is honoured to call his friends.
